When I was in Kindergarten (and earlier) my favorite books were a burgundy bound set of World Book Encyclopedias. They sat in our living room on a mission shelf made by my father and one of my brothers. It was an adventure!
I loved the photos, the drawings, the maps, the charts, and the overlays. I looked and learned. To this day, those remain my favorite reference works. They addressed not only the immediate information need, but lured you on to learn more and more.
